Who We Are

 My journey to creating Second Chance Ranch grew from a deep love for animals and the experiences that shaped my family and changed the way I look at second chances.

Through our own experiences with rescued animals, I saw firsthand the extraordinary impact that compassion, patience, and unconditional love can have. That became the inspiration for Second Chance Ranch—a place where animals in need can feel safe, heal, and live with dignity.

As Founder and Executive Director, my role is to lead the organization’s vision, develop meaningful partnerships, build philanthropic support, and help ensure that every decision reflects the mission upon which Second Chance Ranch was founded.

Above all, I am committed to bringing this vision to life and creating a place where every life deserves a second chance.

Lauren is an animal advocate, -and lifelong horsewoman whose work has been shaped by a profound belief: animals often heal parts of the human heart that words cannot reach. 

Lauren has devoted herself to preserving and protecting the bond between people and animals during life's most challenging seasons.  ... witnessing how deeply women, families, and individuals rely on their animals for comfort, companionship, and emotional strength, and how devastating it can be when circumstances threaten those relationships. 

Throughout her life, Lauren has cared for animals both personally and professionally, gaining hands-on experience in animal welfare, rescue advocacy, fundraising, volunteer engagement, community outreach, and nonprofit leadership.

Her work is guided by the understanding that every rescued animal represents not only a life saved, but also an opportunity for healing, connection, and hope. 

Lauren brings to board service a compassionate perspective, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to building sustainable programs that serve both animals and the people who love them. She believes that rescue organizations are at their strongest when they create communities of support, education, and kindness. Whether working with horses, dogs, or other animals in need.

Lauren remains dedicated to creating a world where every animal is valued and every person has the opportunity to experience the unconditional love that animals so freely give. Lauren is honored to support the mission of animal rescue and to help ensure that more animals find the safety, care, and loving homes they deserve. 

Rachel brings more than 12 years of accounting and financial management experience to Second Chance Ranch, including extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations. Her background also includes her hands-on experience as a veterinary technician and a lifelong passion for animals and animal welfare.

At Second Chance Ranch, Rachel oversees financial operations while assisting with supporting fundraising, donor relations, and the organization’s continued growth. She is especially passionate about helping build a place where animals can be rescued, rehabilitated, and given the safe and loving second chance they deserve!
