Our Future Sanctuary
Second Chance Ranch PBC has identified a beautiful 15-acre equestrian property in Loxahatchee Groves, Palm Beach County, as the potential permanent home for our sanctuary.
This established agricultural property offers something extraordinary: the opportunity to create a lifelong refuge for rescued animals using existing barns, paddocks, pastures, and facilities rather than starting from undeveloped land.
Our vision is to transform this property into a welcoming sanctuary where neglected, abused, abandoned, and at-risk animals can find safety, compassionate care, and a place to belong.
We have found the place we envision as their forever home. Now we need the support to make it a reality.

A Property Ready for a New Purpose
The property we've identified includes an eight-stall horse barn, a separate three-stall barn, eleven existing paddocks, open pastures, and beautiful natural surroundings, including a pond, wooded areas, and a scenic stream.
These existing facilities would allow us to concentrate our initial resources on animal care, essential preparations, and welcoming our first rescued residents.
Our first phase will focus on horses and rescued farm animals, providing safe environments, appropriate nutrition, veterinary care, and the opportunity to live with dignity.
As the sanctuary becomes established and resources allow, we envision expanding to include a dedicated sanctuary for senior and special-needs dogs, along with a future Tropical Bird Sanctuary for rescued exotic birds.
Every phase will be guided by the needs of the animals and our commitment to lifelong care.
Our goal isn't simply to rescue animals. It's to give them a permanent place where they can thrive.
A Place For The Community
Second Chance Ranch will be more than a home for animals. It will be a place where people can come together, connect with animals and agriculture, and experience the powerful bond between humans and animals.
We envision welcoming families, students, volunteers, seniors, and community groups to experience life at the Ranch — learning about the animals, agriculture, responsible stewardship, and the importance of compassion for every living being.
Our initial visitor plans include public visiting hours on weekends and scheduled educational and community group visits during the week.
Educational programs will give young people opportunities to learn about animal care, horses, farm animals, agriculture, and the responsibilities that come with caring for animals.
Students will also have opportunities to volunteer, earn community service hours, and gain meaningful hands-on experience.
All animal interactions will be carefully supervised, with the comfort, safety, and welfare of the animals always coming first.
Animal-Assisted Programs
We believe the bond between people and animals can be a powerful source of connection, confidence, comfort, and healing.
As Second Chance Ranch grows, we hope to develop carefully guided animal-assisted experiences for children and young adults, seniors, individuals with special needs, veterans, and others who may benefit from spending meaningful time with horses and other sanctuary animals.
Where appropriate, we will work with qualified professionals and community organizations to develop structured programs, with therapeutic services provided by properly credentialed professionals.
Sometimes the animals receiving a second chance can help give one to someone else.

Sustainability For The Future
Creating Second Chance Ranch means thinking not only about the animals we can help today, but also about how we can protect and sustain the sanctuary for generations to come.
The property we've identified already has established agricultural facilities and infrastructure, giving us the opportunity to build on what exists while respecting the natural character of the land.
We envision incorporating responsible practices wherever possible, including water conservation, pasture management, responsible grazing, efficient agricultural systems, and thoughtful stewardship of the property's natural resources.
We may also explore renewable energy and other improvements as funding and operational needs allow.
Sustainability also means building a strong financial foundation.
Through ongoing donations, major gifts, sponsorships, fundraising events, visitor admissions, educational programs, and community partnerships, our goal is to develop reliable revenue that supports the sanctuary's long-term operations.
We will grow thoughtfully, expanding programs and facilities as resources allow while always putting the lifelong welfare of our animals first.
We aren't simply building a sanctuary for today. We're creating something meant to last.

We are currently evaluating several potential properties throughout Palm Beach County as we search for the right location to establish the permanent home of Second Chance Ranch.
Our first priority is to secure the right property and begin developing the essential infrastructure needed to safely welcome and care for horses, rescued farm animals, and senior and special-needs dogs.
