We envision welcoming families, students, volunteers, and community groups to experience life at the Ranch — learning about the animals, agriculture, responsible stewardship, and the importance of compassion for every living being.
Educational programs will give young people opportunities to learn about animal care, horses, farm animals, agriculture, and the responsibilities that come with caring for animals. Students will also have opportunities to volunteer, earn community service hours, and gain meaningful hands-on experience.
Animal-Assisted Programs
We believe the bond between people and animals can be a powerful source of connection, confidence, comfort, and healing.
As Second Chance Ranch grows, we hope to develop carefully guided animal-assisted experiences for children and young adults, seniors, individuals with special needs, veterans, and others who may benefit from spending meaningful time with horses and other sanctuary animals.
Where appropriate, we will work with qualified professionals and community organizations to develop structured programs, with therapeutic services provided by properly credentialed professionals.
Sometimes the animals receiving a second chance can help give one to someone else.

Building Second Chance Ranch means thinking not only about the animals we can help today, but about how we can protect and sustain the sanctuary for generations to come.
Our vision is to respect the agricultural character of the land while incorporating responsible and sustainable practices wherever possible. This includes exploring solar energy, water conservation, responsible grazing, efficient agricultural systems, thoughtful pasture management, and responsible stewardship of the land.
Sustainability also means building a strong financial foundation. Through donations, sponsorships, educational programs, special events, community support, and other mission-aligned sources of revenue, our goal is to create a sanctuary that can continue caring for animals year after year.
We will grow thoughtfully — developing programs and facilities as resources allow, while always putting the long-term care of our animals and responsible stewardship of the land first.
