Where Our Story Began

Before Second Chance Ranch was ever an idea, my daughter Sophie and I were going through a difficult chapter of our own.

For nearly nine years, I went through a long and tumultuous divorce and custody battle. There were many difficult moments along the way, but one thing never changed: I would never give up on Sophie.

In 2019, I was awarded sole custody of my daughter. We packed up our lives in New York and moved to Boca Raton, Florida, looking for a fresh start and a new beginning together.

Not long after we arrived, a five-month-old Toy Australian Shepherd named Roxy came into our lives.

Roxy had already been rehomed twice. She was timid, stressed, and needed a place where she could finally feel safe and settled. We brought her home, and with time, she began to trust, relax, and become the happy, playful dog she is today.

A few years later, Clara came into our lives. Before she was even a year old, she had suffered abuse and neglect and needed major hip surgery. After surgery, she was left with no one to foster her, so we took her in.

Sophie helped with Clara's rehabilitation and physical therapy, and we watched her grow stronger until she was able to run and play again. By then, she wasn't simply a dog we were fostering. She was part of our family.

We adopted her.

Roxy and Clara came to us in very different ways, but both simply needed someone willing to give them a chance.

They became the inspiration for Second Chance Ranch.

What began with two rescued dogs has grown into a much bigger vision.

Today, we're working to create a permanent animal sanctuary in Palm Beach County, where horses, rescued farm animals, and senior and special-needs dogs can find safety, compassion, exceptional care, and the second chance they deserve.

We are currently evaluating several potential properties throughout Palm Beach County as we search for the right place to bring that vision to life.
